It happened somehow…

Why do you keep praying for a miracle, and after the miracle occurs, behave as though nothing unusual happened? Why do you ask God to do it when you can’t even believe that He is the one who did it, even after He does it? Why do you strive to explain a supernatural event in logical terms and attempt to normalise it?

When you recall a past miracle and, instead of giving God the credit, say, “It happened somehow,” your faith does not grow. If you had simply acknowledged that God did it, you would have been confident that He can very well do it again.

Sometimes, the logical side of one’s self refuses to accept miracles and finds ways to comprehend the incomprehensible, mysterious help rendered by God. God caused the east wind to separate the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21). This doesn’t make it normal or a usual occurrence. It is not merely a coincidence that the wind blew the same night that the Israelites were caught between Pharaoh and the Red Sea. God may have used a natural phenomenon, but it is nevertheless a miracle.

“I will not give My glory to another.” (Isaiah 42:8 NASB)

“to the one who performs magnificent, amazing deeds all by himself, for his loyal love endures,” (Psalm 136:4 New English Translation)

Let us not consider what is most supernaturally given as common and normal. Let us humbly, unashamedly, and gratefully acknowledge the miraculous working of God in our lives.

  1. True indeed!Have experienced the miraculous working of God in my life. It is nothing but God's doing that I got to read "It happened somehow..."today.Last year 21 June,I was critical ly ill and in ICU with 2.3 hemoglobin level. It is by HIS grace and unceasing prayers of many that I was pulled out of the jaws of death.Where there was no hope, he breathed life into me.I glorify HIS name - my Jehovah Rapha,my El Rohi.
